Before we set our sights on Sam and Dean on Supernatural at 9pm this fall, The CW will air a new series called The Vampire Diaries at 8pm which is based on the book series of the same name by L.J. Smith. Being tagged as yet another typical vampire series, this show hasn't exactly been welcomed by most critics but has garnered enough hype to entice a solid fanbase.
